The Collective Collaboration seeks to engage through:

  • Thinking holistically about nature – where nature supports health and wellbeing for the people and the natural environment (to view nature as being universal, all-inclusive).
  • Embracing our dependency on nature for:
    1. Personal wellbeing (for our happiness, comfort, health, safety, security)
    2. Healthy growth and development (improving cognitive ability, emotional intelligence, risk management, citizenship, social connectedness)
    3. Personal productivity (improvements in efficiency, output, adeptness, proficiency, competence)
    4. Ecosystem functionality (supporting biodiversity, landscape resilience, clean air/water)
  • Becoming good mentors and support mentoring (to guide, teach, support, advise) to empower everyday Australians and facilitate the sharing of stories (sharing through case studies, tales, yarns, narratives, legends)
  • Delivering experiences (to involve, feel, understand, practice, engage) and acknowledge the importance of our emotions (our feelings, sentiment, passion, excitement)
  • Adopting evidence-based approaches (scientific, proven, demonstrated, substantiated) while valuing observation and experiential learning and (learning through reflection, thought, watch, investigation, using first-hand, tactile, exploratory experiences)
  • Understanding this is a shared responsibility and will take many partnerships – socially and politically – to bring this plan to life (a community of practice, multitude of voices, transdisciplinary partnerships, multiple skill sets, a diversity of champions and drivers)
