Creating Nature Connections within City Landscapes – Workshop Program for Adults

The Connective’s Nature Connection Workshop Program

This workshop program introduces the concept of nature connection and its links with the local natural environment, people’s health, wellbeing and impacts on personal productivity.

Workshop participants are provided with the opportunity to learn techniques to enable on going nature connection practices.  The three hour program is held in a bush land setting within local environments and covers mindfulness techniques, local ecological and heritage values, environmental stewardship and connection to place principles.

The workshop model extends beyond traditional knowledge based nature workshops as it actively incorporates and promotes experiential and sensory learning techniques.  Attributes of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and its promotion within the local context – the role and benefits of the local natural assets – are incorporated into program delivery.

“The workshop was beautifully put together. I learnt that I can take time out using all my senses to connect with nature can be done within as little as 10 minutes”

“We were guided on a beautiful and mindful walk which was different to any other walks I have done before that churn out information. This walk was different. By incorporating sensory interactions using feel, touch, smell and taste, we as participants felt more present with nature.
