Biophilic Design Initiative Launch

The Connective is pleased to be part of the Biophilic Design Initiative Committee. The Living Future Institute Australia (LFIA) has launched the Biophilic Design Initiative to provide education and knowledge sharing opportunities, to inspire built environment professionals, and reconnect everyone with nature to improve our daily lives. BIOPHILIC DESIGN is the practice of connecting people and nature within our built environments and communities. Biophilic Design elements include:
  • Place-based relationships
  • Evolved human-nature relationships
  • Natural patterns and processes
  • Light and space
  • Environmental features
  • Natural shapes and forms
The Initiative offers introductory workshops, deep dive masterclasses, information forums and symposiums through to biophilia photographic competitions and the Living Building Challenge – the world’s most rigorous certification that calls for the creation of buildings that operate as efficiently and beautifully as nature’s architecture. For more information visit the Biophilic Design Initiative site.

“We will never be truly healthy, satisfied, or fulfilled if we live apart and alienated from the environment from which we evolved.”
